Alexis Caswell
Alexis Caswell joined FOCUS in 2019 and serves as an Association Services Manager and Policy Analyst, currently specializing in artificial intelligence and privacy issues. As an Association Services Manager she has experience with lobbyist compliance management. She earned her Certified Information Privacy Professional/US (CIPP/US) from the International Association of Privacy Professionals (iapp) in June of 2024 and has earned several data governance and artificial intelligence certifications from OneTrust and DeepLearning.AI.
A Carmel, New York native, she served as a legislative intern at the Vermont Statehouse for three years before earning her Bachelor of Fine Arts from Goddard College and her Master of Arts in international relations from St. John's University (including a glorious, year-long stint at their campus in Rome, Italy). Her previous experience managing advertising for local and regional newspapers and as an organizing Fellow with Obama for America helped her build invaluable project management, organizational and copywriting skills that she employs in her work as an analyst and report-writer. She is described by friends as methodical, tenacious and hilarious (and we happen to agree!) and spends her free time hanging out with her lively little boy George Hudson, explaining obscure American pop culture to her Brit husband, shooing her cats off her keyboard and curling up with good books.
